Discovering the Zoysia Zeon

Zeon Zoysia is characterized by a stoloniferous and rhizomatous growth habit, meaning it spreads horizontally both above and below the soil surface. This facilitates its vegetative propagation and makes it an ideal choice for ground cover in various conditions. It produces many stolons, with leaf blades approximately 6 cm long and 4 mm wide, and short internodes, measuring about 2.1 cm in length.

This compact growth contributes to the formation of a dense, finely textured turf. The plant reaches a mature height between 6 and 12 cm, with a medium-dark green color that distinguishes it from the Emerald (Zoysia japonica).

Compared to other Zoysia species, Zeon Zoysia stands out for its exceptional tolerance to shade, drought and salinity, upright leaf posture and an extraordinarily attractive visual appearance. It maintains its color during autumn and winter, and recovers it quickly in spring. Additionally, it produces less straw compared to other Zoysia cultivars.

When fertilizing, be sure to spread the fertilizer evenly and sparsely over the entire lawn. Provide 2 to 3 kilos of fertilizer per 100 square meters of lawn. It’s a good idea to use a fertilizer spreader, especially if you have a large lawn. Spreading fertilizer by hand and evenly, in the right amount, can be difficult if you are not used to it.
